I liked the fact it's the teachers job to make the room feel inviting. The students need to see you care by posting positive things on the board, making it fun a living for them, but also educational. A student needs to feel the teacher care about them and this is a good start.
Meg Cabot is one of my favorite authors. 2 of my favorite series are:
1-800-Where-r-u, is about a girl who after being struck by lightning gains a unique power. Afraid of what might happen to her if she is discovered she chooses not to let her family into her secret. Along the way she makes new friends and builds upon the relationship of her old ones. While useing the power to help others seeking no reward. What happens though when the government finds out, and they need to her help locate missing criminals?
The seconde series by Meg Cabot I absolutely love is the Mediator series. After her mothers remarriage Suze not only gets a new father, but two new step-brothers. On top of that she is forced to leave her city street for the fab California life only the new home her family has just moved into seems to to haunted by a ghost. Yeah just a typical occurance in Suze's life, a ghost who must need her help to pass on to the otherside, or does he, why else would a ghost seek out a Mediator?
